Itinerary

  • Assemble at the boarding point in Delhi – RK Ashram Metro Station/Majnu Ka Tila.

  • Start an overnight journey to Mcleodganj and socialize with your co-travellers.

  • After arriving in Mcleodganj, check-in to our hotel, freshen-up and have some leisure.

  • Post leisure, we will head out to explore the Tibetan Market and visit the famous Dalai Lama Temple and Kalachakra Temple by walk.

  • Chill at local cafes in Mcleodganj (recommendations: Tibet Kitchen, Jimmy’s Italian Kitchen, Coffee Talk, Moonpeak Espresso, Nick’s Italian Kitchen & Illiterati Cafe).
    How about trying some street-style momos in the market, doesn’t that sound yummilicious?

  • Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.

  • Wake up early in the morning and, post breakfast, begin your trek to Triund.

  • The trail offers great views of Kangra Valley.

  • After reaching the hilltop, cherish the majestic Himalayan beauty and take some #InstPerfect pictures.

  • Trek down towards your campsite at Triund, check into our camps and have some leisure.

  • In the evening, opt to experience a mesmerising sunset scene with your clan and spend some #MeTime.

  • Savour home-style cooked dinner and overnight stay in camps.

  • Wake up to a peaceful mountain morning and, post breakfast, quickly leave for McLeodganj from Triund.

  • En route, take a much-needed halt at BhagsuNag Waterfall and the very famous Shiva Cafe.

  • In the evening, depart for Delhi from McLeodGanj.

  • Reach Delhi the next morning with lots of amazing memories and unforgettable experiences.

1. Where is McLeodganj located?


McLeodganj is a hill station located in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It lies near Dharamshala and is known as the home of the Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama.

2. What is Triund famous for?


Triund is famous for its scenic trekking trail, panoramic views of the Dhauladhar range, and overnight camping under the stars. It’s one of the most popular short treks in Himachal Pradesh.

3. How far is Triund from McLeodganj?


Triund is approximately 9 kilometres from McLeodganj. The trek takes about 3 to 5 hours, depending on your pace and weather conditions.

4. Is the Triund trek difficult?


The Triund trek is considered moderate and is suitable for beginners. It has a well-defined trail but includes some steep sections and rocky paths, especially towards the end.

5. What is the best time to visit McLeodganj and Triund?


The best time to visit is from March to June and September to November. The weather is pleasant and ideal for trekking and sightseeing during these months.

6. Is camping allowed at Triund?


Camping is not currently allowed at the Triund hilltop due to forest regulations, but you can stay at authorized base camps or nearby accommodations below the summit.

7. Are there any permits required for the Triund trek?


Generally, no special permit is required for the Triund trek for Indian citizens. However, foreigners may need to register with local authorities, especially if entering protected forest areas.

8. What should I carry for the Triund trek?


Carry essentials like:

  • Trekking shoes

  • Warm clothing

  • Water bottles

  • Power bank

  • Raincoat (during monsoon)

  • Snacks and basic medicines

9. Can children and older people do the Triund trek?


Yes, children above 8 years and elderly people in good health can do the trek, but they should be accompanied and go at a slower pace. It’s important to assess fitness before attempting.

10. Are there places to stay in McLeodganj?


Yes, McLeodganj offers a wide range of accommodations, including hotels, homestays, hostels, and guest houses suitable for all budgets.

11. Is there mobile network connectivity at Triund?


Mobile connectivity is weak or unavailable at the top of Triund. It’s better to inform someone in advance about your trek plans and expected return.

12. Is McLeodganj safe for solo travellers?


Yes, McLeodganj is generally safe for solo travellers, including women. Locals are friendly, and the area is tourist-friendly. However, it’s wise to avoid isolated trails at night.
