The Triund trek is classified as Easy to Moderate. While beginners can do it, the last 2km (the "22 Curves") is a steep incline.
Tip: We recommend basic cardio (30 minutes of walking) for a week before the trip to build stamina for the climb.
McLeodganj has excellent 5G connectivity, but Triund Top has near-zero mobile signal.
Cash is King: Online payments (UPI/GPay) often fail at the campsite due to network issues. Carry at least ?2,000 in cash for personal expenses.
Power: There are no charging points at the tents. Bring a 20,000 mAh power bank to keep your devices charged.
Temperatures at Triund can drop to 5°C even in summer.
Packing List: Wear a light base layer for the trek, but pack a fleece and a windproof down jacket for the night. Sturdy shoes with a good grip are mandatory; avoid flat-soled sneakers.
Triund is a plastic-free zone.
Save Money: Water at the top is expensive (?60-80 per bottle) because mules carry it up. Carry a reusable 2L water bottle to refill at the base or during the descent at Shiva Cafe.
At 2,850 meters, some travellers may feel slight breathlessness. Our Trip Captains are trained in basic high-altitude first aid. We ensure a steady pace to allow for natural acclimatisation.
