Four of us stopped here on our way to Gangotri and ended up wishing we'd planned an extra day. The apple orchards in season were beautiful, and the riverside camping under a full sky of stars was unreal — no light pollution at all. Locals were incredibly warm and told us stories about the old Harsil we'd never have known…

Came specifically for photography and Harsil did not disappoint. The light on the river at golden hour, the deodar forest trails, and the old wooden houses in Dharali all made for incredible frames. TourMyHoliday timed our stops perfectly around sunrise and sunset. If you love landscapes, this valley deserves way more attention than it gets.

Went for some solitude before continuing to Gangotri, and Harsil gave me exactly that. The army cantonment area has a calm, disciplined charm, and the walk along the river with the deodar trees was one of the most peaceful hours I've had in years. Limited food options after sunset, so plan accordingly, but otherwise a hidden gem

Harsil is hands-down one of the most underrated valleys in Uttarakhand. The Bhagirathi flowing right alongside the road, deodar forests on both sides, and those famous apple orchards — it felt untouched compared to the usual hill stations. Our kids spent hours just sitting by the river. A must-visit before it gets discovered by the crowds

We stayed two nights in Harsil and one in Dharali village, and both were magical in completely different ways. Watching the sunset over the Bhagirathi with snow peaks in the background was the highlight of our entire trip. TourMyHoliday's driver also took us to a quiet spot for photos that wasn't in any itinerary — really thoughtful touch
