  • Overnight journey to Sonprayag.
  • Travel via Devprayag (the confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers) and Dhari Devi Temple en route.
  • Arrive in Sonprayag by afternoon or evening.
  • Check in at a hotel in Sonprayag and relax.
  • Explore the surroundings and prepare for the Kedarnath trek.
  • Overnight stay in Sonprayag.
  • Early morning transfer to Gaurikund (5 km | 20 min) via local transport (self-paid).
  • Start the 16 km trek to Kedarnath.
  • Visit Kedarnath Temple and explore the surroundings.

  • Attend early morning Kedarnath Temple darshan.
  • Trek back (16 km | 5-6 hrs) to Gaurikund, then transfer to Sonprayag.
  • Drive to Sari Village via Guptkashi & Ukhimath (60 km | 2-3 hrs).

  • Early morning drive to Chopta (20 km).
  • Trek to Tungnath Temple (3.5 km | 2-3 hrs).
  • Continue the trek to Chandrashila Peak (1.5 km | 1 hr) for breathtaking views.
  • Trek back to Chopta and return to Sari Village.
  • Overnight stay in Sari Village..
  • Depart from Sari Village early in the morning.

The best time to visit Kedarnath and Tungnath is from May to October, avoiding the monsoon season. Summer offers pleasant weather, while September-October provides clear skies and fewer crowds.

How difficult is the trek to Kedarnath and Tungnath?
The Kedarnath trek is around 16 km and moderately difficult, requiring good stamina. The Tungnath trek is shorter (around 3.5 km) but steep, making it a bit challenging for beginners.
